Make Your Own Halloween Gift Baskets and Avoid All The Candy

Our family doesn’t celebrate the Halloween holiday traditionally. Instead, we usually have friends in and play games or go out to a movie. Then we attend the local community bonfire, a spooky haunted house and a fireworks display. We have a great time and still consider that we are part of Halloween. Since my children don’t get candy as other children that go trick or treating do, I make them Halloween gift baskets.

The colors for my Halloween gift baskets are a given – black and orange of course. This year, I went away from the Halloween theme and I made night out at the movies baskets. The items I chose included popcorn balls arranged in movie theatre popcorn holders. I added some of their favorite sodas as well as other movie theater treats. Under all of the treats were nice, comfortable fall pajamas for each of the girls. Everything was tied up with black and orange ribbon and the tissue paper was all black and orange as well.

The girls were so thrilled with the night out at the movies theme and they seemed to forget all about missing all the candy. I also made sure to include a fun movie in the Halloween gift baskets as well.

Not everyone celebrates every holiday. I have made many Halloween gift baskets over the years of all shapes and sizes. The night at the movies baskets were just as fun to make and I had a great opportunity to share a little bit of holiday spirit without going door to door.
